While taping this week’s Broncos Show roundtable segment Ryan, Ken and I sort of veered off course for a while. We spent close to half an hour discussing the Gregg Drinnan story and the bigger picture issues surrounding it. Due to the length and subject matter I thought it would stand better on its own than as a part of the regular Broncos weekly podcast. We’ll be posting that very shortly.

In case you didn’t know what this was about, the Kamloops Blazers banned Kamloops Daily News sports editor Gregg Drinnan from interviewing any member of the team or team management. It appears the ban was ordered due to “ongoing negative reporting” in the eyes of the Blazers.

As I said in the podcast none of us know the whole story from either side. We can’t really comment on the validity of either side of the argument in this specific instance. Instead I tried to turn the conversation to the larger implications of this kind of situation. What are your thoughts on the issue? We should learn more today when the WHL, Blazers and Kamloops Daily News meet.
